Product description
- Steeped in Irish Culture: The shamrock has carried Irish identity since St. Patrick used the three-leaf clover to explain the Trinity to the first Irish Christians, a symbol claimed in every century since. On this teapot, those same leaves are painted by hand in green sprays across the ivory body, each caught mid-trail as if they grew there.
- Poured with Purpose: Parian china is lighter than standard earthenware, with a translucency that comes from the clay body itself, not the glaze. At 35 fl oz (1035ml), 5.5 inches (14cm) tall and 10 inches (25.4cm) handle to spout, each teapot passes through sixteen hands from design to inspection, and any flawed piece is destroyed before it leaves.
- Handle by Stem: The Shamrock collection, first made at Belleek in the 1880s, wraps the teapot body in full basket-weave relief from base to lid, the same wickerwork pattern pressed into every surface. The handle and lid knob are formed from twisted stems, shaped by hand as a single braided piece. Hand wash only, not dishwasher or microwave safe.
- Tea and Ceremony: Each teapot arrives in a Belleek gift box, no additional wrapping needed and ready to hand over. As a housewarming gift, this is the piece that goes on the table the first Sunday in the new house, the one still in the kitchen twenty years later when the occasion that gave it has long since been replaced by ordinary Sundays.
