There are no fillers or waxes - they are made with DANIEL SMITH paint pigment and gum arabic, shaped into a convenient stick form and dried. They are highly reactive with water, similar to pan paints (1 Watercolor Stick equals 3 full pans), and easily release our beautiful DANIEL SMITH watercolor paint with a touch of a wet brush, or when drawn onto wet paper. The Watercolor Sticks are like a “Pan in Your Hand” and are perfect for plein air, travel journaling, the studio, wherever you like to paint!
- This medium-to-dark warm, reddish-blue is highly lightfast and medium tinting strength. It's sedimentary quality increases its versatility. Mixed with various portions of other blues, French Ultramarine is a wonderful sky pigment. Modify it with Quinacridone Gold for delightful greens that remain color-coordinated. Mix French Ultramarine with Quinacridone Burnt Orange and be rewarded with an amazing range of blue to brown grays. Mixed with either Quinacridone Rose or Pink, a range of purples result.
