• In the 1970s and 1980s, as the bagpipe began to appear in Scottish folk groups, there was a concern amongst the establishment that bagpiping could be diluted by a rash of inferior players and a lack of regard for the tradition.
• The fear proved unfounded and this album of solo piping, first released in 1983, brought together many of the best pipers in the folk revival (from groups such as Battlefield Band, Whistlebinkies, Ossian, Clutha, Kentigern) and illustrates the integrity and ability of the players involved.
